International Tourism Fair in Spain

Fitur, the International Tourism Fair that takes place in Madrid, is one of the most visited fairs celebrated in IFEMA’S exhibition grounds. In its past edition, Fitur 2019 brought together over 10.487 companies, from 165 different countries, 142.642 professionals, and 110.848 visitors.

Together with the Fruit Attraction Fair, (which you can know more about visiting our Fruit attraction post), Fitur is the most anticipated fair of the year, whose exhibitor and visitor numbers increase every edition.
If you’re planning on coming this year to the Fair, here are some essential things you need to know.

Schedule and tickets for Fitur Madrid 2020

The Tourism Fair will have a duration of 5 days, although with different opening hours:

Dates: From the 22nd to the 26th of January.
Opening hours for professionals:
•From the 22nd to the 24th of January: From 10AM to 7PM.
•January 25th: From 10AM to 8PM
•January 26th: From 10AM to 6PM

General entry opening hours:
•January 25th: From 10AM to 8PM
•January 26th: From 10AM to 6PM

You can purchase the tickets through the Ifema website. Don’t forget to register previously if you’re a professional to get special bonus and to access exclusive workspaces during the Fair.

Hotels in Fitur Madrid

As we were saying, Fitur is one of the most visited Fairs and the city of Madrid hosts thousands of people in these dates, so finding an accommodation, is not always that easy.

If you’re planning on visiting the fair, we suggest you reserve your accommodation with advance. There’s a wide variety of choices such as apartments, aparthotels, hotels, etc.
An apartment can be the ideal choice for these days, as it gives you a lot of freedom, and has a fully equipped kitchen so you can come back to have something to eat, and have a rest during the Fair. Activities in Fitur Madrid 2020.

This year, the International Tourism Fair celebrates its 40 years. Since it started, it hasn’t stopped growing, innovating and improving.

During these years, they have adapted new exhibition halls for the newest trends of the sector. The touristic market is still in continuous evolution, and is one of the most important economic motors worldwide.

Some of the areas you’ll see at Fitur 2020 are:

B2B match: Point of encounter for companies, to facilitate commercial alliances through pre-set meetings. This area has been a part of Fitur for a decade, and it’s one of the main areas in the corporate level.
Festivals: Due to the rise of the tourism of festivals, and the economic impact that they generate this area celebrates its third edition in Fitur. The Association for the Musical Tourism Promotion in Spain, together with the Musical Promoter Association, hopes to facilitate the contact between public administrations, touristic companies, hotels, etc.
Gay LGTB+: According to data from Fitur, approximately the 16% of the travel expenditure corresponds to the Gay segment. This area, that will have been present for 10 years, is a point of encounter for many companies that have offers for this segment of the market.
Health: Sixth edition of the health area, that brings together the medical tourism and the well-being tourism.
Know-how & Export: A space where national touristic companies can share their know-how and receive personalised advice in internationalization.
TechY: For technology adapted to the tourism sector.
Talent: A space where universities, recruiters and head-hunters can search for talent in the sector.
